The company is dedicated to establishing a healthy standard for student living while minimizing negative industrial impacts on the environment. This holistic vision of sustainability extends to all aspects of the business, from the choice of materials to the replanting of trees.

Our Commitment

A brigther future

Sustainability is woven into the very core of Sciving's mission.

We do right by students and the planet

We do right by students and the planet

In collaboration with Scandinavian partners Sciving guarantees both quality materials and the most sustainable wood possible. The company underscores its commitment to sustainability by placing a strong emphasis on reforestation. All wood harvested for use in student housing is carefully offset through the replanting of trees on our plantations. This reaffirms our goal to avoid a negative carbon footprint and emphasizes our dedication to using only wood that is replanted after harvesting. At Sciving, we go beyond just building homes – we are constructing a sustainable future.

Our sustainable values

Sustainable materials

Sustainability lies at the heart of our company, and one of the ways we uphold this commitment is through the meticulous selection of materials. We prioritize the use of sustainable materials throughout our projects, ensuring that our units are not only functional and aesthetically pleasing but also environmentally responsible.

Environmentally aware Management

Sciving demonstrates a steadfast commitment to environmentally aware management, integrating sustainable practices into every facet of our operations. We prioritize environmental stewardship to minimize our ecological footprint and contribute positively to the planet

BAYO.S groundscrews

Sciving collaborates with BAYO.S technology, allowing our units to adapt to various terrains effortlessly. This innovative solution guarantees stability and security, ensuring our units remain stable and secure even on rugged or uneven landscapes.

FIBO wall panels

At Sciving, we employ Fibo wall panels in our bathrooms, constructed from PEFC-certified wood, ensuring sustainable forestry practices. These panels are accompanied by their own EPD (Environmental Product Declaration), meticulously documenting environmental calculations for both raw material extraction and production

Bamboo wood

Bamboo wood's rapid growth surpasses that of traditional wood, fostering environmental benefits. It emits approximately 35% more oxygen than common wood species due to its pesticide-free, herbicide-free, and artificial fertilizer-free cultivation. Furthermore, bamboo acts a role in recirculating CO2, thus improving its ecological impact.

FSC approved materials

Sciving is deeply committed to sustainability, a principle that underpins our approach to the construction of our first test unit. We prioritize the use of FSC-certified products wherever possible, aligning with our dedication to environmental responsibility.

Transparent supply chain

We are actively working towards FSC certification, further strengthening our commitment to sustainable forest management and opening up opportunities for emviromental grants and support. We also focus on the Danish Swan label, hence meticulously documenting all production conditions to meet high environmental standards and ensure transparency in our supply chain.

Biomass

The process of planting and harvesting trees is conducted in a sustainable manner, adhering to international best practices. After the trees are harvested, any remaining biomass, including branches and foliage, is meticulously recycled. This recycled biomass serves various purposes, with one notable application being the production of briquettes. These briquettes, composed of recycled biomass, are employed as a fuel source, particularly in private homes. This approach not only emphasizes environmental responsibility by minimizing waste but also contributes to sustainable energy practices, offering an eco-friendly alternative for residential heating and energy needs.
